Andhra Pradesh to partner with industries for skill development

Visakhapatnam: ONE of the focus areas identified by Andhra Pradesh is to build on the technology that positively impacts the lives of people.
Minister for Industries, Commerce, IT and Skill Development Mekapati Goutham Reddy on Wednesday said the State is looking forward to the participation of candidates in new-age skills that have been introduced this year. To ensure that India's young talent reaches its full potential, the State is creating strong industry ties and some of partnerships have arrived at with industry giants such as Flipkart, TVG Group, Dell Technologies, JBM Auto Ltd and CII-Institute to provide industry-relevant skill training to youth, empowering them with at least the basics of digital skills.
He was speaking here at the inaugural of the IndiaSkills 2021 Regional Competition-South organised by National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC), Government of Andhra Pradesh and AP State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC). The event provided a platform to the youth of five States of south India to come together and compete for a position at the IndiaSkills Competition 2021.
The minister reiterated their commitment to improve job skills of youth and said APSSDC had organised a mega job mela at Dr Lakkireddy Hanimi Reddy Government Degree College, Mylavaram on November 26 to provide employment opportunities to about 3,000 candidates.

He said through vocational and technical training, skill upgradation, building new skills, and mapping
existing skills, the State is effectively working towards reducing the mismatch between the supply and
demand of skilled manpower in the country. IndiaSkills Competition is furthering this cause.
