Agri needed more thrust: AP Chambers

AP Chambers president Pydah Krishna Prasad has described the Union Budget 2023-24 presented by Nirmala Sitharaman as growth-oriented with long-term benefits and opined that more thrust should have been given to agriculture.

Visakhapatnam: AP Chambers president Pydah Krishna Prasad has described the Union Budget 2023-24 presented by Nirmala Sitharaman as growth-oriented with long-term benefits and opined that more thrust should have been given to agriculture.

"Much relief is given to the MSMEs as 95 per cent of the forfeited amount relating to bid or performance security will be returned to them by the government and undertakings if they failed to execute contracts during Covid period and revamped credit guarantee scheme for MSMEs through infusion of Rs 9,000 crore in the corpus," he added.

Vice-President of Visakhapatnam Zone, AP Chambers Sudhir Mulagada said in this budget prominence has been given to the ease of doing business, skill development, increase of outlay for MSMEs and capital expenditure to 3.3 per cent of GDP, which is phenomenal.
