On the occasion of World Democratic Day, we had an exclusive conversation with Vasagiri Venkata Lakshminarayana, widely known as JD Lakshminarayana, is a retired Indian police officer and politician from Andhra Pradesh. He served as the Additional Director General of Police in Mumbai and as the Joint Director of the CBI, where he gained prominence for spearheading major investigations, including the OMC scandal, Emaar Properties case, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy case, Satyam scandal, and various Disproportionate Assets cases. Earlier in his career, he was the Joint Commissioner of Police in Thane, Maharashtra, and served as Inspector General of Police with Y-category security, specialising in high-profile corruption cases. On December 22, 2023, he established the Jai Bharat National Party with the goal of transforming the political landscape.
