Telangana's Chief Minister, A. Revanth Reddy, made significant strides in advancing development initiatives during a recent visit to Kosgi in the Kodangal Assembly constituency. On Wednesday, February 21, he ceremoniously laid the foundation stones for a multitude of projects totaling an impressive Rs 4,369.143 crore investment. Notably, Kodangal holds special significance for Revanth Reddy as it is his home constituency.
The ambitious development agenda encompasses various sectors, promising infrastructural enhancements and socio-economic upliftment. Key among these projects is the Narayanpet – Kodangal Lift Irrigation Scheme, slated at Rs. 2,945 crore, aimed at bolstering agricultural prosperity. Additionally, the construction of the R&B guest house in Kodangal, priced at Rs. 6.8 crores, seeks to enhance hospitality infrastructure in the region.
The focus extends beyond urban developments to include crucial road infrastructure with investments allocated for the construction of double-lane roads, bridges, and road widening across the Kodangal Constituency, amounting to Rs. 344.5 crores. Recognizing the need for connectivity in remote tribal areas, Rs. 27.886 crores have been allocated for road development in Vikarabad district.
Social welfare remains a priority, with allocations for tribal welfare hostels, minority residential schools, and social welfare residential schools/junior colleges. Furthermore, the establishment of educational institutions such as the Daulatabad Junior College, Bomraspet Junior College, and a veterinary college underscores the commitment to educational empowerment.
Healthcare infrastructure receives a substantial boost with investments in a medical college, nursing and physiotherapy college, and a 220-bedded hospital totaling Rs. 224.50 crores. The region's power infrastructure is set to improve with the foundation laid for a new 33/11 KV sub-station in Hasnabad village.
In line with empowering local communities, Revanth Reddy distributed bank linkage checks to women Self Help Groups, signaling support for women's economic empowerment initiatives. He pledged to further strengthen these groups, offering opportunities such as the stitching of school uniforms and interest-free loans. Cottage industries are also set to receive incentives, aiming to bolster grassroots entrepreneurship.
