A 28-year-old man in Nagpur has been arrested for strangling his mother after she declined to provide him with money to purchase a smartphone, according to local authorities. The incident resulted in the death of Kamlabai Badwaik, a 47-year-old woman, and a murder investigation was initiated following a post-mortem examination that confirmed strangulation as the cause of death.
The woman's son, Deepak, initially received a call stating that his mother had been taken to the hospital by his brother, Ramnath, and subsequently passed away. However, upon seeing the deceased, Deepak became suspicious, especially after noticing the absence of her gold ornaments.
Deepak promptly reported the matter to the police, and during the ensuing investigation, Ramnath was questioned due to his suspicious behavior.
