Special attention to city issues, says GHMC Mayor

Hyderabad: GHMC Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi on Monday said that special attention had been paid to the problems of the city and added that In order to find out the problems in various wards of the city and resolve them on the spot, the officials of the respective departments of the zonal units along with the concerned corporators would focus on the long-term issues in sanitation, storm water drainage in colonies and prepare proposals as required .
“So far, around 15 wards have been toured and efforts have been made to solve various problems as well as long-term issues. Especially in the wake of the state government sanctioning funds to the GHMC, the funds will be sanctioned for resolving long-term issues,” she said. On Monday, the mayor visited several colonies in Hafizpet division and said that steps had been taken to prevent sanitation and dog menace in the area. The Mayor instructed the officials to take steps for sanitation and prevention of dog menace in the RTC colony and prepare proposals for road widening, storm water drainage and development of the park.
She said that Steps should be taken to remove construction waste in Nalagandla tank. She instructed the officials to immediately speak to the representatives of Ramky group and take steps to remove the waste as they are not carrying the waste in the wake of the CSR method being done for the development of the tank. The mayor inspected the works being taken up for flood prevention from Navodaya Colony and Central University.
Corporator Poojitha, Zonal Commissioner Upender Reddy, CE Bhaskar Reddy, Zonal SE Shankar Naik, DC Mukunda Reddy and others participated in the meeting.
