Three-day International Kite and Sweets Festival begins at Parade Grounds
Kite festival enthralls everyone
Hyderabad: The three-day International Kite and Sweets Festival began with a bang at Parade Grounds in Secunderabad on Monday.
Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, along with Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, inaugurated the event.
A total of 57 international kite flyers from 19 countries and 58 national kite flyers from 22 States are taking part in the event, showcasing their unique and creative kite-flying skills, turning the skies of Hyderabad into a mesmerizing canvas.
In addition to the kite festival, a Sweet Festival is being celebrated with culinary traditions. Women from Telangana and other States, including Punjab, Gujarat, Kerala, and Maharashtra, are showcasing a variety of homemade sweets, reflecting the diversity of India’s rich food culture. These delicacies will be available for display and sale at designated food courts. A total of 1,350 stalls of various dishes from home and abroad have been set up.
Officials said the three-day extravaganza is expected to attract over 1.5 million visitors, making it a landmark event in Hyderabad’s festive calendar.
