Hyderabad: The TGSRTC is gearing up to ensure that those going to their native places safely in the wake of Sankranthi festival. The corporation management has already decided to run 6432 special buses for this festival. Passenger traffic is likely to be high on January 10, 11 and 12. It has been planned to make special buses available on those days. It also made adequate arrangements for the return journey on January 19 and 20.
The corporation operates special buses from crowded areas like MGBS, JBS, Uppal Crossroads, Aramgarh, LB Nagar Crossroads, KPHB, Boinpally, Gachibowli and other places in Hyderabad. Pandals, shamianas, chairs, public address system, drinking water facility and mobile toilets will be set up for the convenience of passengers in these areas. TGSRTC management has revised the ticket prices up to 1.5 times as per the State government's GO for special buses plying for the Sankranthi festival. The revised fare will be applicable only for the special buses plying to Telangana and other States. The revised fare will be applicable only on January 10, 11 and 12 and on 19 and 20 of this month, when the return journey is high. Regular buses, except for special buses, will have normal charges.
As part of the State government's Mahalaxmi scheme, free bus transport facility for women in Palle Velugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses running for Sankranthi will be implemented as usual. The management is running special services to ensure that people do not face difficulties in terms of transportation during major festivals and special occasions and to ensure that they reach their destinations safely. Although there is no rush of passengers in special buses on the return journey, empty buses will be brought back by the corporation at the earliest to avoid inconvenience to passengers on the busy routes. They will be operated on their respective routes according to the traffic of the passengers. The management said advance reservation in the TGSRTC buses would be done on the www.tgsrtcbus.in website.
