Telangana Chief Minister addresses the Southern Rising Summit 2024
Hyderabad: In a grand celebration of the spirit and dynamism of the southern States, The Southern Rising Summit 2024, hosted by ABP Network, India’s premier multi-language news platform, commenced with an awe-inspiring opening here, with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy addressing the august gathering with his special address.
The Chief Minister, said, “Telangana is the destination of China plus One. That’s why we are trying to improve road infrastructure and trying to get foreign investments.”
“The way Gujarat emerged from Maharashtra; it was not as easy for us. For 60 years, we have fought for Telangana State, and hundreds of youth have sacrificed their lives.” Sharing about his plans for the State, CM Reddy said, “We want to build Telangana as a future city.”
Earlier in the morning, welcoming the esteemed speakers, august gathering, and the viewers from all over the country, Dhruba Mukherjee, Director, ABP Network, said, “The South India has the lowest fertility rate and population growth than the rest of the country.
If a child is born in south India today, then it is highly likely that the child would be healthier, wealthier, more secure and a more socially impactful life than any other child in the country. But when India got independent, the southern states were somewhere in the middle or bottom of the list on these parameters. But today, when it comes to health, education, economic performance indicators, south India’s average is way ahead than the rest of India. Therein lies the genesis of The Southern Rising.”
After elaborating on the contribution of Congress-led Governments to Indian growth story, CM Revanth questioned, “Despite winning elections for the third term, what revolution has BJP leaders brought about?”
He further remarked, “Today, the youth must think, in the last 15 years, what has BJP given to the country except media management, digital management, and Whatsapp University?”
“BJP has only one mission – to win elections. After winning one election, they gear-up within few days for the next election. They don’t review Government policies.”
Discussing delimitation of parliament seats and devaluation of INR, CM Reddy said, “If Telangana sends 1 Rupee to Centre, the centre gives us 0.40 paise back. On the contrary, Bihar receives 6 rupees and UP gets 7 Rupees. The five south Indian States pay more tax than the entire North India.”
“South India had effectively implemented family planning as directed by the Indian Government.” He further added, “The centre cannot punish South India for following rules and for progress it has made. The increase of seats need to be fair and proportionate between North and South. Delimitation will make us neglected community.”
“Centre can give Gujarat gift city, bullet train, semi-conductor industry; but BJP is opposing irrigation projects, road and other development projects in Telangana, while routing all investment and infrastructure projects to Gujarat.” CM Reddy asked, “Can Gujarat only create $5 trillion economy?”
“He hasn’t come to the Legislative Assembly even once in 10 months.” CM Reddy remarked speaking about the leader of opposition in the State. “The people of Telangana will not tolerate a Nawab or Zamindar. We made the Government by people’s will. We are working for the betterment of people.”
On a personal note, he remarked, “In the 17 years of my political career, I have not taken a single day off.”
“We are not a destructive force; we are a constructive force. We know how to build relationship between the Centre and State.” CM Reddy added, “I have given 50,000 Government jobs in Telangana within 10 months of assuming office. A sum of Rs18,000 crore has been given to the farmers in 25 days.”
