Telangana Delegates Meet Indian Community in Sydney

Hyderabad: In collaboration with the Australian Telangana community, a Meet & Greet and Diwali celebration programme was held at the Woodcroft Community Center in Sydney, Australia on Thursday.
Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar, Legislative Council Chairman Gutha Sukender Reddy, Deputy Chairman Banda Prakash Mudiraj, and Legislature Secretary Dr V Narasimha Charyulu attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Speaker Prasad Kumar extended his heartfelt thanks to the Telangana community in Australia for their warm hospitality, saying, "No matter where Telugu people go, they bring kindness and warmth, making us feel at home."
He also acknowledged the immense contributions of Indian immigrants who, while focusing on personal development, actively contribute to the advancement of their host nations.
Reflecting on the strong cultural roots shared by Indians globally, the Speaker expressed pride in India's cultural values, citing Rayaprolu Subbarao's words: "Wherever we go, our hearts remain tied to our homeland." He praised the deep connection Telugu people feel for Telangana’s progress, even from afar.
Elaborating various initiatives taken by the State government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, the Speaker said the State government is providing facilities like free public bus rides for women, subsidised cooking gas, free electricity up to 200 units, and enhanced healthcare under Rajiv Arogya Sri.
Further, he highlighted the government’s unique measures like debt relief for farmers and the establishment of Skill University and Young India Residential Schools in each constituency.
Prasad Kumar and Chairman Sukender Reddy also encouraged the community to invest in Telangana’s growing industrial sector, offering reassurances on its business-friendly policies. They urged the attendees to play active roles not only in Australian politics, but also in Telangana's growth.
The Speaker also expressed gratitude for the invitation and reiterated his hopes for a prosperous future for Telangana and the Indian community abroad.
