Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that the Telangana government is committed to revolutionizing school education, ensuring that government schools set the highest standards of excellence.
Sridhar Babu has directed officials to take decisive steps toward this transformation.
Chairing a review meeting on education reforms with Education Secretary Dr. Yogita Rana and senior officials at the Secretariat here on Monday, the Minister emphasised that government schools, once renowned for producing exceptional talent, must reclaim their former glory.
"Government schools should not just compete with private institutions—they should surpass them. We need a deep-rooted reform strategy, addressing key challenges and implementing progressive changes," he stated.
The Minister said the government is fully committed to upgrading school infrastructure and integrating advanced learning methodologies. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s vision is to provide every child—regardless of background—access to world-class education through integrated schools, he said.
To achieve this, Sridhar Babu emphasized the importance of global benchmarking and advanced teacher training .
"Telangana will adopt Gujarat’s model, where 30-40 government teachers receive specialised training in Singapore every year. The state will also explore training opportunities in Finland, France, and the UK to bring global best practices into Telangana’s classrooms," Sridhar Babu said.
He further stated that the Singapore government has agreed to establish world-class educational institutions in Telangana. A delegation from Singapore will visit soon, and Telangana’s teachers will also receive international training to enhance their skills. Similarly, Telangana will study and surpass the successful practices implemented in Delhi’s government schools, ensuring higher learning outcomes, the Minister said.
"In the next 2-3 years, our education system will witness a radical transformation. Despite significant investments, we have yet to see the expected results. This will change. We will make Telangana’s schools a model of excellence," Sridhar Babu affirmed.
"Our goal is clear—students in Telangana will receive an education that is not just competitive, but truly world-class. The time for incremental change is over; we are ushering in a new era of excellence," he declared.
