SCR GM tells Staff, Officers to Follow Safety of Train Operations

Hyderabad: South Central Railway General Manager Arun Kumar Jain advised the staff and officials that emphasis must be given to following the safety procedures for ensuring safety in train operations. A review meeting was held to discuss on the safety of train operations across the zone today at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad.

Neeraj Agrawal, Additional General Manager, SCR, participated in the meeting along with all the Principal Heads of Departments. Divisional Railway Managers (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.

The General Manager held a detailed review on safety of train operations across the zone. He examined the status of on-going safety drive and advised the officials that deficiencies if any, should be rectified at the earliest. He also instructed the officials to conduct regular safety drives and frequent field inspections to conduct counselling to the safety related staff including the loco pilots, assistant loco pilots, guards, Track Machine operators, Tower Wagon operators etc., to strictly adhere to safety procedures to ensure the total safety in running of the trains.

He also reviewed the stock position of fire prevention safety items like smoke detecting devices, Fire extinguishers etc., over the zone. He advised officials to ensure adequate stocks to meet any exigency. He also discussed on the crew working hours and instructed all the Divisional Railway Managers to meticulously plan on proper rest to be given to the crew members. He reviewed the progress of ongoing works related to traffic facility, track renewal, doubling works etc., being taken up by divisions and advised the officials to further speed up the works so as to achieve the targets set for the current financial year.
