SCR GM Holds Review Meet on Safety & Punctuality of Trains
Punctuality and train safety reviewed
Hyderabad: SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain conducted a detailed review meeting on safety and punctuality of trains on SCR jurisdiction on Monday at Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad. Principal Heads of Departments also participated in the meeting. Divisional Railway Manager’s (DRMs) of all six Divisions i.e. Secunderabad, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Guntakal, Guntur and Nanded joined the review meeting through video conference.
The General Manager conducted a detailed review on the safety of train operations over the zone. He instructed the officials to intensify field inspections focusing on functioning of safety related assets pertaining to Signalling, Engineering and station assets related to safety etc,. He also discussed on punctuality of the trains. He instructed all the DRMs to make an action plan to run the trains punctually regardless of 3rd line work and fog related issues during winter season.
Arun Kumar Jain discussed about the progress of ongoing 3rd line work and maintenance related works of private sidings. He instructed the officials to conduct frequent inspections in the private sidings though the track is maintained by private firms, since safety of the train operation is top priority.
He also discussed on the importance of maintaining the railway properties safe and secure. He stated that every railway employee must have the moral responsibility to protect the railway property and they need to inform the higher officials on any instances endangering safety. He also discussed on implementation of the Railway Board safety guide lines and advisory and emphasised on the strict adherence over the zone.
