Hyderabad: BRS party working president KTR on Monday expressed his concern about the news reports of dengue deaths in the State. Stating that the government was claiming there are no dengue deaths in the State, he said in newspapers there were news that five people died of dengue in a single day. “Today also there are news reports that three more people died of dengue. Who is hiding this data and why,” he asked.

On his official twitter handle, KTR also tagged newspaper reports to his post. He alleged that there were not enough medicines in the government hospitals. “It is said in many hospitals there are three or four people in each bed and were taking treatment. KTR appealed to the Chief Secretary Shantikumari to take this situation seriously and declare a health emergency in the State by tagging her twitter handle. He said there was a need to take up intense sanitation drives in villages and towns and added that massive awareness campaign should be held across the State while noting that the government should take steps for the availability of blood platelets to treat the dengue affected patients.
