Hyderabad: Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has announced a new initiative called 'Rajiv Yuva Vikasam' aimed at assisting unemployed youth in Telangana.
He announced that this scheme will support self-employment opportunities for five lakh youth, allocating a budget of Rs6,000 crores for unemployed youth from SC, ST, BC, and minority groups in the State.
During a media interaction at Veera Vanitha Chakali Ilamma Women's University on Tuesday, the Deputy Chief Minister disclosed the government's plan to offer financial aid of Rs3 lakh to each beneficiary through the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme via the SC, ST, BC, and Minority Corporations.
He informed that a notification regarding the self-employment initiative for 5 lakh unemployed youth will be issued on March 15.
"Applications for the self-employment scheme must be submitted online by April 5. The review of these applications will take place from April 6 to May 31, during which beneficiaries will be chosen. The selected beneficiaries will receive their sanction letters on June 2, coinciding with Telangana Formation Day," disclosed Bhatti Vikramarka.
The Deputy Chief Minister noted that the authorities are developing suitable guidelines for selecting beneficiaries, and comprehensive information about the scheme will be provided in the forthcoming notification.
Bhatti Vikramarka also shared that the State government has earmarked Rs540 crore for the establishment of Veera Vanitha Chakali Ilamma University.
"A master plan has been created to construct outstanding facilities, aiming to make it the premier university in the nation. Plans are also in place to renovate the heritage buildings on campus. In addition to this, the State government is releasing Rs15.5 crore for the renovation of heritage buildings on the university premises and Rs100 crore for the construction of new buildings immediately," he added.
Later, the Deputy Chief Minister personally inspected the heritage buildings and restoration plans along with the officials.
