Railway Authorities Help Passengers Stranded in Floods; Provide Food and Medicine

Hyderabad: Railway authorities have extended their support to passengers stranded at Kesamudram Railway Station in Mahabubabad district due to heavy rains, which caused disruptions in train services, and arranged special buses to shift them for the safer places.

The grim situation arose when a section of the railway track near Kesamudram in Mahabubabad district was washed away by floods, halting train operations on that route. Passengers traveling to various States faced difficulties due to the suspension of train services.

Upon learning of the situation, the railway officials acted swiftly to assist the stranded passengers. They arranged special RTC buses to transport passengers from Kesamudram to Kazipet Railway Station. Multiple buses were deployed to ensure the safe transfer of passengers to the station.

Moreover, they distributed food, water and medicines to passengers at Kazipet Railway Station. Hanamkonda district collector P Praveenya personally supervised the arrangements made for the railway passengers at Kazipet railway station.

The collector remained on-site, overseeing the situation until the passengers were safely on their way to their destinations. Passengers from various States departed via the Sanghamitra Express, while others boarded the Bengaluru Express for their onward journey.

BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, Warangal West MLA Naini Rajender Reddy, and Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana also visited the Kazipet Junction and distributed food packets and water bottles to the passengers.

The Minister and MLAs interacted with passengers to inquire about their problems they have faced and wished them a safe journey to their destinations. They also expressed their appreciation to the district administration for the services provided to the stranded passengers at Kazipet Junction. The passengers also expressed their gratitude to the authorities.
