Need Stronger Partnerships Between PSUs and Mega Industries: Dr Malsur
Dr Malsur suggest improved industry, PSU partnership

Hyderabad: Dr Malsur, Director of Industries, underscored the critical role of MSMEs in Telangana’s economic growth and emphasised the need for stronger partnerships between Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs), Mega Industries, and local enterprises.
Addressing a workshop here on Monday, Dr. Malsur highlighted the logistical and operational benefits for PSUs when collaborating with local MSMEs, ensuring cost efficiency and streamlined supply chains.
To support the vision, the State government is actively assisting MSMEs with technology upgradation and quality certifications, enabling them to meet industry standards and enhance their competitiveness, he said.
Dr Malsur also introduced the Digital Employment Exchange of Telangana (DEET) platform, designed to connect MSMEs with skilled manpower effortlessly.
To further this initiative, the Directorate of Industries, in collaboration with The Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS) platforms and The Government e-Marketplace (GeM) portal, organised a one-day workshop. The event aimed to ease cash flow challenges for MSMEs by integrating them with these digital platforms, allowing them to encash invoices without delays. Moreover, the workshop focused on identifying key goods and services required by PSUs and Mega Industries, ensuring targeted market access for Telangana’s MSMEs. This effort aligns with the State government’s new MSME policy, which seeks to establish sustainable business linkages and create wider market opportunities for small enterprises.
K Madhukar Babu, Joint Director of Industries, welcomed the participants, while Rajkumar Ohatker, Additional Director of Industries, outlined the workshop’s agenda.
Industry leaders, including Roy Mathew, CEO of M1exchange, Ms. Nikita Bose, National Head of Invoice Mart, and Ved Prakash, State Head of RXIL Platform, shared insights into their platforms' role in addressing liquidity challenges for MSMEs. Representatives from Grant Thornton, GeM Portal, APPC, and DEET also contributed their expertise to the discussions.
The workshop saw participation from over 100 attendees, including major PSUs such as BDL, ECIL, MIDHANI, FCI, BSNL, NTPC, and SAIL, alongside Mega Industries like Microsoft Data Centre and SAFRAN. The interactive session provided a platform for addressing technical, operational, and financial queries related to MSME financing and procurement processes.
The event concluded with a strategic roadmap to strengthen Telangana’s MSME ecosystem. This initiative marks a significant step toward fostering a more inclusive and resilient industrial ecosystem, ensuring that Telangana’s MSMEs thrive as key contributors to the state’s economic development.
