Narayana Demands AP to Conduct Probe into Scam Committed by Adani
Hyderabad: Stating that a bribery case has been filed against India's corporate giant Gautam S Adani in a New York court in the US, CPI national secretary K Narayana today demanded AP government to conduct a detailed inquiry into the scam committed by Adani in the State and punish the culprits.
In a statement, he said the Adani scam was the culmination of political and economic corruption. “While Adani is the root cause of corruption, it is the people of Andhra Pradesh who have fallen victim to it. Unlike in India, cases are completed quickly without delay in the US. Adani's corruption is creating political ripples in Andhra Pradesh. It fell on former Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy and spread to Delhi. Adani is considered like PM Modi’s right shoulder. The case registered against Adani in the US is creating ripples all over India from Andhra Pradesh.
PM Modi will get a clean image if he doesn't stand in the way of this case. It is not right for the US government and PM Modi to try to end this corruption case. There needs to be a large-scale mass movement to resolve the case at the earliest,” he said. He wondered whether America was the root cause of political and economic corruption in Andhra Pradesh? “It is surprising that corruption means from the US to Andhra Pradesh. Should the people of Andhra Pradesh pay a price of Rs 1 lakh crore for corruption of just Rs 1,750 crore? Does PM Modi has power to punish industrialist Adani? If he is punished, Modi is bound to fall. It is alleged that former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is responsible for such corruption, but it is Prime Minister Narendra Modi who appears to be supporting it,” he alleged.
