Hyderabad: The second edition of the Naimisam Earth Festival 2025, organised by the J Krishnamurti Centre, Hyderabad, took place on Sunday at the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Gachibowli. The program was graced by Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister for Tourism & Culture Telangana, Member of Legislative Assembly Parnika Reddy alongside several prominent dignitaries, who came together to promote sustainable living and environmental awareness.
The festival, a collaborative effort with over 60 NGOs, educational institutions, and eco-activists, provided a platform to showcase various sustainable initiatives through displays, presentations, and hands-on learning experiences. The goal was to inspire individuals across all age groups to take meaningful action towards the planet's preservation.
Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, in his address, expressed his strong support for such initiatives and highlighted the critical need for collective action to address environmental challenges. "Sustainability is not just a buzzword; it is a responsibility we all share. This festival serves as a reminder that every step we take toward sustainability counts, and it is our collective efforts that will make the world a better place for future generations," said Rao.
The festival offered engaging intellectual talks by renowned speakers such as Prof Aseem Srivastava and Bharat Mansata, Founder of Vanvadi Forest Collective, who inspired the audience with their knowledge and passion for environmental conservation. The younger generation, too, played an active role, performing skits and songs to raise awareness about sustainable consumption and eco-friendly choices. Traditional art forms also took center stage, with Guusadi dancers and other vibrant performances celebrating sustainability. The Aarabhi Violin Symphony provided a melodious soundtrack to the festivities, while various stalls, introduced healthy alternatives for sustainable living.
The festival not only provided entertainment but also valuable insights into real-world conservation efforts, with organizations like WWF, Society to Save Rocks, and St. Francis College for Women sharing innovative ideas for environmental preservation. Attendees also had the opportunity to take home sustainability project plans, empowering them to implement positive change in their own communities. The program was supported by Millet Bank, Prerna Waldorf School and Team Retro.
