MGIT Launches Bootcamp on IoT in Collaboration with NIELIT, Aurangabad

Hyderabad: The Department of Information Technology, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology (MGIT), inaugurated a one-week Boot Camp on the Internet of Things (IoT) on Monday, as part of its academic-industry collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Aurangabad.
The inaugural session was graced by Prof. G. ChandraMohan Reddy, Principal, MGIT, who emphasised the importance of hands-on training and industry exposure in shaping the next generation of engineers. Dr D Vijaya Lakshmi, Professor and Head of the Department of Information Technology, who is also the Convener of the Bootcamp, addressed the participants and encouraged them to leverage the opportunity to gain deep insights into real-time IoT applications.
Prof M Rudra Kumar, Dr Ch Premkumar, and B Lokesh from the Department of IT are coordinating the event as Faculty Coordinators, ensuring seamless execution of the sessions and hands-on labs. The Bootcamp features expert sessions by Vinay Vanish, and Rishi Das from NIELIT, Aurangabad, renowned for their expertise in embedded systems and IoT-based industrial applications. The first day included foundational modules on IoT architecture, sensor integration, and embedded hardware, offering participants an engaging blend of theory and practice.
On the first day, students were introduced to the basics of IoT, including its architecture, sensor systems, and embedded hardware, with practical demonstrations. Students from both the Computer Science and Business Systems (CSB) and Information Technology (IT) departments are actively participating in the camp to gain hands-on experience and industry-relevant skills. This Boot Camp is part of the initiatives under the recently signed MoU between MGIT and NIELIT, aimed at promoting technical training, internships, and faculty development programs.
