MEIL CSR arm donates buses to temple and AIIMS
Hyderabad: Taking a step forward with a strong commitment to a cleaner and greener future, MEIL Foundation, the CSR arm of Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Limited, has donated two state-of-the-art Olectra 7-metre electric buses to AIIMS & Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple at Mangalagiri in Andhra Pradesh as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative. These eco-friendly buses were formally handed over by KV Pradeep, Chairman & Managing Director, Olectra Greentech Limited.
The inauguration ceremony was made with the presence of Nara Lokesh, Minister of IT, Andhra Pradesh, who, along with other dignitaries, flagged off the buses. These advanced electric buses are designed to make travel comfortable, safe, and efficient. Each bus can accommodate 18 passengers and can run 150 km on a single charge. They come with digital instrument panels, Electronic Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS), real-time Vehicle Tracking Systems (VTS), and Reverse Park Assist Systems (RPAS) for enhanced safety. Passengers can also enjoy USB charging ports and air-conditioned interiors for a pleasant journey.
Olectra Greentech Limited, a trendsetter in electric mobility, has been leading India’s transition to clean and sustainable public transport. The company has already delivered over 2,500 electric buses, covering more than 30 crore kilometres and reducing CO₂ emissions by over 2.7 lakh tons, which is equivalent to planting 1.24 crore trees!
At the event, KV Pradeep expressed Olectra’s commitment to sustainability, saying:
