Hyderabad: Former Congress MP KVP Ramachandra Rao on Friday wrote a letter to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, addressing the ongoing rejuvenation and beautification of the Musi river, a project initiated by the State government.

KVP expressed his support for the ambitious project and welcomed the government's efforts. In the letter, he also requested that revenue officials be sent to survey his farmhouses. He stated that if any of them fall under the STL (Sub-Technical Limit) or buffer zones, they should be marked without hesitation.

The Congress leader further declared that if these constructions are deemed illegal, he would take personal responsibility to demolish them at his own expense.

He emphasised that his reputation was one of integrity and stated, "I am not one to tarnish my name; it’s not in my Congress blood."

KVP expressed that the law should treat him the same way it treats any ordinary citizen and urged the Chief Minister not to grant him any exemptions just because of his senior position in the Congress party.

He added that the law should take its course without any interference from either him or the Chief Minister. Reiterating his stance, KVP Ramachandra Rao affirmed that he welcomes government initiatives like the Musi rejuvenation, as long as they do not harm the poor.

He also condemned opposition parties for constantly making allegations and urged the government to ignore such criticisms.

In his letter, the Congress leader strongly denounced the conspiracies of opposition parties that aim to disrupt projects designed to benefit the poor.
