Hyderabad: BRS Party working president KT Rama Rao today said former CM and their party president KCR was the leader who hoisted the pink flag on April 27, 2001 in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Telangana and added that he left his indelible mark on the final phase of the separate Telangana movement.

Speaking to media persons at Telangana Bhavan here today, he said all people of the State knew that November 29, 2009, was the day when KCR's fast was the turning point of the great separate Telangana movement. “November 29, 2009 is an auspicious day that will go down in the history of Telangana as the day when the foundation stone was laid for the realization of the dream of Swarajya. Three crore people of Telangana have shouted in unison that we want our Telangana. Deeksha Diwas is an occasion when KCR stood up and showed his determination to bring Telangana and moved the political system of the country from Kashmir to Kanyakumari,” he recalled.

KTR also recalled that Deeksha Diwas was the one which impressed and convinced everyone and brought together the political system of the country and the political system in the State irrespective of caste and creed. “On November 29, we are going to celebrate deeksha diwas in a big way at 33 district party offices. KCR's leadership has left an indelible mark either in the movement or in governance. We will move in such a way that we will give a befitting reply to both national parties. I appeal to the party cadres to celebrate deeksha diwas on November 29. Senior leaders have been appointed as in-charges of all the districts.

On the November 26, important leaders in each district will hold preparatory meetings with the party activists. On November 29, we are going to celebrate deeksha diwas in a grand manner. On December 9, we will end the Deeksha Diwas with the unveiling of a statue of Telangana Thalli in Medchal. We will celebrate Telangana Thalli by paying tribute to her,” he said. KTR also said all MLAs, MLCs and MPs will participate in the program. He said the time had come to take up another sankalpa deeksha to save four crore people of Telangana from the clutches of the ruling Congress party.

KTR recalled the words of Prof. Jayashankar that Telangana has its own political identity as Sri Rama Raksha. “In the united State, under the then Congress rule, every section and every human-being was in a dire situation. Those conditions are reappearing today. The same compulsion, the same repression, the same miserable conditions, the same alarming situation are reappearing now. With the inspiration of KCR, who had achieved Telangana by bending the necks of Delhi then, today the party has to bend the necks of the two Delhi parties again,” he said. KTR said if the Congress was given power, life in Telangana would again become dark and the farmers, auto rickshaw workers and construction workers were suffering from the bottom to the rich.
