Kishan Reddy's Musi Nidra programme concludes
Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy's Musi Nidra (Musi river nightstay) programme concluded on Sunday. He stayed overnight at Amboji Shankaramma's house in Musi river catchment area on Saturday night along with local party leaders. After waking up in the morning and completing the morning activities, he mingled with the local people. He had breakfast at the homes of Basti residents in Tulsi Ram Nagar of Amber Pet assembly constituency.
Speaking on the occasion, he told the people that BJP would stand by them no matter how many bulldozers come to the area and added that their party would guard the homes of the poor people. He warned Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to change his attitude at least now in the issue. Kishan Reddy visited the catchment areas of Musi after providing assurance to the Basti residents.
Speaking to the media persons on the occasion, he alleged that the State government had declared war on the poor people of the State capital and demolishing their houses. He claimed that the CM had announced that he would run bulldozers over the houses of the poor people and those who obstruct demolition of illegal houses. He said there was fear among the residents of the affected areas and added that they were living in fears.
Stating that he stayed overnight at the residence of Shankaramma, he said the husband of Shankaramma was an auto-rickshaw driver and her four sons were living in four floors of their house. “They told me that they have been living in their house since the last 40 years and are asked as to where they should go if their house is demolished by CM Revanth Reddy. Every house in this area has a similar story like Shankaramma Musi river project. Nine people died with fear after the announcement of the CM that he would demolish the houses in the Musi river catchment area,” he claimed.
Reddy said the State government had not laid foundation stone for the construction of the houses of the poor in any place of the State so far but it was diminishing the houses of the poor in the Musi river catchment area. He demanded that the State Government stop contamination of Musi river with pollutants released into it from various parts of the city and its surrounding areas before demolishing the houses of the poor.
