Kishan Reddy Tours Flood-Affected Areas of Khammam District
Union Minister Kishan Reddy on Monday visited the flood hit areas of Khammam district
Hyderabad: Union Minister Kishan Reddy on Sunday toured the flood-affected areas of Dansalapuram and met the victims. He inspected the flooded houses and assured the victims that he would stand by them.
Kishan Reddy said Khammam district had witnessed unprecedented floods and added that many people had been rendered homeless in these floods. He said after enquiring about the problems of the Munneru flood victims, the catchment area was examined by him. Later, he distributed essential commodities and blankets to the Munnairu Vaagu flood victims at Kandagadla function hall in Agraharam colony.
Speaking on the occasion, he said this was not the time to do politics but the Centre and State governments would work together for the people. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called up Chief Minister Revanth Reddy during the floods and enquired about the impact of the floods,” Reddy said. He said ₹1,345 crore was with the State government under the Advance Disaster Fund and added that PM Modi had directed them to spend it for the people. He reminded that it was a resolution made to keep the Advance Disaster Fund with the States when the Congress government was in power. He said the Central and State governments would always stand by the flood victims of Munneru.
