Kishan Reddy Inspects newly Developed Cherlapalli Railway Station

Hyderabad: G Kishan Reddy, Union Minister of Coal & Mines, inspected the newly-developed satellite terminal station at Cherlapalli on Sunday. MP Eatala Rajender also participated. SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain, Chief Administrative Officer / construction Satya Praksh, Divisional Railway Manager, Secunderabad Division Bhartesh Kumar Jain and other senior Railway officials were present.

Speaking to media persons on the occasion, G. Kishan Reddy stated that the Cherlapalli Satellite terminal has been developed with state-of-the-art technology at a cost of Rs 430 crore. He stated that the station has been provided with modern amenities and facilities such as executive lounge, waiting halls, sleeping pods, cafeterias, restaurants, ticket booking counters, lifts, escalators, Foot overbridges, EV charging points and so on. He stated various environmental friendly initiatives have been taken up during the development of the station such as translocation of 500 trees, setting up of rain harvesting pits, sewage treatment plant, solar panels, LED lights and compensatory afforestation of 5,500 trees and so on.

He said that 98 per cent of the work at Cherlapalli station has been completed and the remaining work is planned to be completed shortly.

The Union Minister stated that the new railway station will have the capacity to handle 25 pairs of trains. Ten new lines have been added with a total of 19 line capacity, he said. The Cherlapalli station will be highly beneficial to the people of the twin cities and will ease the congestion at Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda stations, he added. The Union Minister stated that the government has undertaken the development of various railway projects in Telangana State on a mission mode including new lines, doubling, tripling, quadrupling, electrification and so on. He said 40 railway stations in Telangana State are being redeveloped under the Amrit Bharat station scheme.

Secunderabad station is being redeveloped with world class standards at a cost of Rs 715 crore and is targeted to be completed by end of 2025, he added. He said that the indigenously developed Kavach protection system is also being installed across railway network in Telangana State and will enhance the safety of train operations.

Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender thanked the Prime Minister and the Ministry of Railways for the development of Cherlapalli Railway station on par with airport. The people of the surrounding areas will get immense benefit with the activity when it commences operations.

Earlier, SCR GM Arun Kumar Jain briefed the media on the salient features of the newly developed Cherlapalli Railway station.
