Speaking to media persons later, he said they were starting development activities in various parts of Nampally Assembly constituency and added that the Majlis party had been leading the region as legislators and corporators for the past several years. “In non-Majlis areas, efforts are being made to prevent people from getting any cooperation from the government. The Majlis corporators and MLAs were acting in a partisan manner and doing injustice to the people here. As an MP, I am doing many things for the benefit of the people of Nampally constituency. In the neglected areas, with the help of GHMC and water works departments, community halls, open gyms and borewells at a cost of Rs78 lakh. We are doing development work to provide many such facilities. Basti leaders and people should rise above politics. In Hyderabad city, GHMC and Water Works department are facing a shortage of funds. At least, the staff who handle streetlights are not being paid salaries. This led to a strike,” he said.
Kishan Reddy said in Hyderabad city, there was no situation to take new tenders due to non-payment of bills to contractors and added that in the bastis of areas like Amberpet, Khairatabad, Secunderabad, Nampally and Goshamahal in the city, injustice was being done to the people due to lack of funds. He said schools were running with meagre facilities due to lack of funds for GHMC, Water Works Department and Education Department and added that the State government should take a special initiative in the allocation of funds.
