Interstate Drug Peddling Racket busted in Hyderabad
Interstate drug racket busted
Hyderabad: On January 16 evening, sleuths SOT, LB Nagar Zone, Rachakonda, in coordination with the Neredmet police, apprehended two interstate drug peddlers involved in the illegal trafficking and distribution of heroin.
The details of the accused persons are: Mahesh alias Mahesh Sarem aged 28 years, residing at SN 102/B, Sainik Nagar, Rama Krishnapuram, Neredmet and native of Bheeyasar, Jodhpur, (peddler); Mahipal, aged 19 years, Gas Mechanic, residing near Railway Track, Sainik Nagar, Safilguda, Neredmet, and native of Khavo-Ki-Dhani, Hanuman Nagar, Bhojasar, Jodhpur, Rajasthan State.
The police seized 190 gram heroin, one envelope cover containing one gram heroin each 10 covers, two-wheelers Hero CD Deluxe Br. No. TS-11-EH-6828, two Mobile Phones, one Sim Card, one small weighing machine, one adhesive tape plaster, all property worth Rs 23 lakh.
The accused Mahesh befriended and developed acquaintance with one Samsuddin, a drug peddler residing at Chainpura (Vi), Lohawat, Phalodi district, Rajasthan State. Mahesh purchased 200 gram Heroin from Samsuddin, for which he paid Rs 1,00,000/- through the PhonePe payment platform.
On January 10, 2025, Mahesh arrived in Hyderabad by train and proceeded to stay at his friend Mahipal's residence in Sainik Nagar, RK Puram, Neredmet and informed Mahipal about the Heroin transaction, then the duo decided to sell drug to customers at a higher price. Mahesh employed ride-hailing services such as Porter, Rapido, and Uber to deliver heroin parcels to his customers.
Since his arrival in Hyderabad, Mahesh had been distributing heroin to various individuals, including PK Gotem @ Prakash, Suresh @ Manish Bishnoi, and Vinod @ Sopu Bishnoi. Based on orders received from a customer named Bajarang, Mahesh and his accomplices also sent Heroin parcels to Mukesh Kumar and Prakash Bishnoi. In an effort to conceal their activities, Mahesh and his associates used different methods, such as booking rides on Rapido, Ola, and Porter to deliver parcels at various locations far from their original address. They also used Mahesh's PhonePe scanner to receive payments from the customers.
The proactive efforts of the SOT LB Nagar Zone and Neredmet Police led to the successful interception of this drug trafficking operation, highlighting their continued commitment to combat illegal drug activities and ensuring the safety of the community. Since 2024 to till date, the Rachakonda Police have seized the following drug worth Rs 88,33,98,505.
The arrests were made under the direct supervision of G Sudheer Babu, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda and the under guidance of K Muralidhar, DCP, SOT, LB Nagar-Maheshwaram, SOT and Neredmet police personnel.
