Hyderabad: CPI national secretary K Narayana on Monday said there was a threat of CM Revanth Reddy going to jail due to his crack whip on all illegal constructions built in buffer zone and FTL areas of tanks and lakes.

Welcoming the functioning of Hydraa, he demanded that the State government recover money from actor Nagarjuna for illegally building his N-convention centre and restore the Thammidikunta tank. He also alleged that some people sold their lands through the illegal notary method in the past resulting in the mushrooming of the illegal constructions.

Addressing media persons at Maqdoom Bhavan here, he doubted that the actions of Hydraa would either lead to a jail term for big wigs of the State or CM Revanth Reddy if the bigwigs conspired against the CM. Stating that CM Revanth Reddy is riding a tiger in the issue of the demolition of the illegal structures, he warned the CM that the tiger might hunt him down.

Targeting PM Narendra Modi, who came to power by claiming himself to be an ordinary citizen of the country without any properties, he alleged that the PM had waived off the loans of his industrialist friends to the tunes of lakhs of crores. He mocked that except fugitive Vijay Mallya, all of those who defaulted on the loans were from Gujarat. He alleged the State owned stock market regulator as the slave of industrialist Gautam Adani.

Stating that in the last 10 years, the prices of essential commodities have gone up, he said the CPI had called for a nationwide protest from September 1 to 7 against the hike in prices. He accused the RSS of trying to change Modi. Narayana said CM Revanth Reddy should convene an all-party meeting on the issue of the demolition of government offices located within the limits of FTL and buffer zone of Hussain Sagar as claimed by MIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi. Stating that the government buildings are serving the people, he said it was wrong to compare them with private constructions. Commenting on the Krishnastami celebrations, Narayana demanded governments to clean all jails as the jail was the birthplace of Hindu Deity Lord Krishna.
