Hydra Officials Evacuate People and Demolish Wavering Building
Hyderabad: Authorities have started the demolition of a four-storied building in Siddique Nagar of Gachibowli in the city. The demolition was carried out from the top floor with the help of a hydraulic machine.
Hydra and GHMC officials evacuated local people around the collapsed building. The machine was brought to the spot on Wednesday morning and the demolition was carried out. A building constructed on a small plot of land in Siddique Nagar was found tilting to one side on Tuesday night creating panic among the residents of the area. Three days ago, the construction of a new building started behind the building. At around 8.30 pm on Tuesday, the building suddenly tilted towards one side. About 30 of the residents of the building ran out of the house fearing for their lives. Iqbal Hussain, who was on the third floor of the building, jumped from the top in fear and was seriously injured. The locals immediately rushed him to a nearby private hospital.
Swapna, the owner of the building, said the building had fallen to the side due to digging pits for another structure nearby. She said the house was built two years ago. “On Tuesday night, all the inmates of the building were evacuated as they tilted to one side. If the building collapses, it is being removed as there is trouble for the people in the vicinity. We sold the farm in the village and borrowed money and built the house. What will be the future of our children if we lose it? With the demolition of the building, the children along with me will fall on the road," Swapna said.
