Hyderabad: Holi festival was celebrated with much fervour and gaiety across the State today, including the State capital Hyderabad. This time, each area celebrated the Holi in its own style. People danced to the songs and had a great time. Without any distinction between young and old, everyone gathered in one place to celebrate the festival of colours. They joyfully splashed colours on each other.

On one side, colours were flying as they danced to the music, the youth danced and were lost in the joy. They enjoyed the Holi celebrations in various places, including Begumpet Country Club and People's Plaza on Necklace Road. The youth created a buzz at People's Plaza on Necklace Road. The entire area turned lively as family members and friends splashed colors on each other. The music added more energy to their enthusiasm. The upbeat DJ songs got everyone moving.

In Begum Bazaar, the youth danced and celebrated the Holi by splashing colours and cheering each other. In every lane, young people were seen dancing to DJ songs and rain dances. In Kukatpally, the Holi festival was celebrated in a grand manner. Both girls and boys had a great time.

At Nampally Exhibition Grounds, the Holi celebrations were on another level. The youth danced to the DJ songs and created a lively atmosphere. Amidst the joy, the Holi celebrations took place at Osmania University. The OU students participated and danced in the festival of colours. Thousands of students participated in the events organized near the Arts College, joyfully splashing colours. They created a lively atmosphere with their dances to the DJ songs.

This time, the police were very alert during the Holi celebrations. The reason for this is that the second Friday of the ongoing holy month of Ramadan also came on the same day. Such a day occurred 35 years ago. During the holy month of Ramadan, the Muslims pray with great reverence. However, the Muslim elders say that if colours are splashed on mosques, it tarnishes their sanctity. With the Holi festival coinciding with such an occasion, the police were on high alert. They have taken strict measures to prevent any untoward incidents, as even a small incident could have repercussions not only in Hyderabad but also in other areas.
