HC Dismisses KA Paul’s Petition Against Turncoat MLAs

28 Nov 2024 7:29 PM IST

Hyderabad: Telangana High Court on Thursday dismissed the petition filed by Praja Santi Party president KA Paul on MLAs, who switched parties in the Assembly. KA Paul in his petition prayed the court to order the MLAs, who switched the parties not to go to the Assembly. He also urged the HC to prevent the turncoat BRS party MLAs like Danam Nagender from taking part in the assembly proceedings. He said MLA Danam changed Congress and BRS parties in the last ten years.

He said people would lose faith in democracy if such turn-coat MLAs changed the parties as they like.

The High Court said the decision on MLAs, who have changed parties was within the purview of the assembly Speaker and added that a recent HC judgment asked the assembly Speaker to take an appropriate decision on the issue at an appropriate time.
