Hyderabad: At a media briefing held at his residence, former minister Harish Rao ay launched a scathing criticism on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, accusing him of orchestrating political vendettas and causing the collapse of law and order in the State.

Harish Rao stated that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy was solely responsible for the breakdown of law and order in Telangana. “It’s disgraceful that after contributing to this collapse, he speaks about Hyderabad and Telangana’s brand image. Who provided security for MLA Gandhi to carry out attacks? Wasn’t it Revanth Reddy and the DGP? Why were the attacks not stopped yesterday? When our MLA was attacked under police protection, where was Revanth’s concern for law and order? Why didn’t the DGP act? DGP, why didn’t you take action? This wasn’t just Gandhi’s attack—it was orchestrated by Revanth Reddy. Today, we were placed under house arrest. Why wasn’t Gandhi placed under house arrest yesterday?”

Harish Rao alleged that CM Revanth Reddy and the DGP are responsible for Thursday’s attack. After causing the damage, they are now trying to cover it up, he said. “Is there any law and order left in the State? Ten days have passed, and no cases have been filed against those who attacked us in Khammam. When we went to file a complaint, we were arrested, dragged around for hours, and taken into the forests of Mahbubnagar.

“Meanwhile, Arikapudi Gandhi, who attempted murder, was escorted home with full security, along with his followers. While we were denied even water, the attackers were treated to biryani in the police station. Revanth Reddy is the mastermind behind the attack. Under his direction, MLA Kaushik Reddy’s house was attacked.

“We exercised restraint to protect Telangana’s reputation and maintain the dignity of the police. Our party’s MLAs, MLCs, party’s leaders and workers have been placed under house arrest across the State. Police are making threatening phone calls, intimidating people into reporting to police stations. Is this oppression acceptable? Your house arrests only strengthen our resolve. The situation in the State is worse than during the Emergency. If those in power have crooked minds, how can things be better at the lower levels? Revanth Reddy continues to use vulgar, offensive language, while lecturing YouTube channels on morality. If you lead by example, others will follow. “As the ruler, so the people.”

He said minister Komatireddy’s call for BRS workers to be beaten is shameful and unacceptable. The government’s focus on money instead of governance in the past nine months has driven law and order into chaos. Leaking information to the media or engaging in casual chats won’t restore peace in the State. He said the Chief Minister’s reckless words, offensive language, and actions that incite hatred are fuelling unrest across Telangana. Revanth Reddy speaks one way in Delhi about defections and another here in Telangana. His claim of appointing a PSC Chairman through an election is a lie—it wasn’t an election, it was a selection.

“Revanth’s entire political career is based on U-turns. He says one thing and does another. His theatrics are damaging the State’s reputation. Don’t take your vendetta out on Telangana. Don’t cut down the very tree you’re sitting on. Telangana, which was once leading in all fields, is now being undermined by Revanth’s authoritarian ways. The DGP’s office is in a respected position, but it is shameful to see it being used for political conspiracies aimed at silencing the Opposition.

“Everyone knows how poorly Revanth Reddy treated the police in the past and the derogatory comments he made about them. I urge the DGP and the police not to blindly follow Revanth Reddy, but to act with discretion and follow the law. Instead of lecturing abroad on freedom, Rahul Gandhi should address the restrictions his party is imposing on the people of Telangana. Party defections and illegal PAC appointments are constitutional violations. Revanth is using personal conflicts and promoting attacks to distract from these issues.

By using diversion tactics, Revanth is avoiding addressing the real issues facing the people of Telangana. Instead of helping flood victims, he is engaging in theatrics in Hyderabad. When asked about the Rythu Bandhu scheme, Revanth deflects by talking about the Kaleshwaram project. Stop the theatrics and fulfil the promises made to the people.

“We are no strangers to struggles. You may attack us in Khammam and Hyderabad, but the very stones you throw will lay the foundation for BRS to return to power. While Revanth presented false numbers to the 16th Finance Commission, we presented a strong, responsible. We requested funds for water projects, Mission Bhagiratha, and overall State development. Focusing on the State’s welfare over politics, we presented real facts and figures to the Finance Commission.

“Revanth Reddy’s false affection for Andhra leaders is clear. He called Chinna Jeeyar Swamy an “Andhraite” and dismissed Anand Sai, who designed the Yadadri temple. Every time, defence is mentioned, Revanth creates new drama. His claim that an election was held for the PAC Chairman is laughable. It wasn’t an election but a selection process. According to the Constitution, an election should have been held, but it wasn’t. Revanth Reddy speaks carelessly, constantly changing his stance. He even changed his position on Old City, claiming he’d hand it over. Gandhi provoked Kaushik Reddy, who only responded directly to him. No comments were made about settlers.

“Due to the scuffle, I’ve injured my shoulder, and the MRI suggests I need 15 days of physiotherapy. We strongly condemn the arrests of BRS leaders across the State. Arresting women from Adilabad to Alampur is unacceptable. We demand their immediate release. The people of Telangana deserve leadership that prioritises their safety, development, and welfare. We demand an immediate end to political vendettas and urge the Chief Minister to focus on fulfilling his promises to the people”, he added.
