Govt to Develop Singur Project as Tourist Destination: Raja Narasimha

Hyderabad: Minister for Health Damodar Raja Narasimha has informed that the Singur project in Pulkal mandal of Sangareddy district will be developed as a tourist destination.

The Minister on Monday conducted a field visit along with officials to review the steps to be taken to develop the Singur project into a tourist destination.

On the occasion, the Minister made several suggestions to the officials and instructed that both the Tourism and Irrigation departments should install two modern and speedboats with a capacity of 50 seats in the Singur project.

The Minister has directed the officials of the Tourism, Irrigation and R&B departments to prepare a master plan and roadmap with the aim of attracting large scale tourists to the Singur project.

The officials were advised to develop a restaurant, food court, children's play area, landscaping, art scaping, and garden on the island in the Singur project.

"All necessary measures should be taken to attract tourists in the lower part of the project. Similarly, the Initiative measures should be taken to ensure that a modern restaurant and 25 modern cottages are built on 29 acres of land in the lower part of the project at a cost of five crore rupees, including a children's play area, food court, gardening, greenery, landscape skating, and parking," he said.

The Minister further stated that the construction of a BT road on the upper part of the Singur Dam should be undertaken under the auspices of the Irrigation department.

"For the convenience of tourists, necessary steps should be constructed to go up the dam, a park should be developed along the dam bund, and cycling tracks and walking tracks should be set up," Raja Narasimha instructed.

He said that steps should be taken to ensure that the Singur project gets special recognition across the Telangana State. The Minister also advised the officials to undertake various types of development works to attract tourists from the Telangana State as well as neighbouring States to the Singur region.
