Hyderabad: Minister for IT and Industries has informed that the Future City will serve as a pillar of Telangana’s economy, supporting the State's overall growth by fostering industrial development and creating employment opportunities.
Speaking in the Legislative Council on Tuesday, Sridhar Babu stated that Chandigarh is currently recognised as a well-planned city in India and the State government is committed to transforming Hyderabad into a similar model city in the coming years.
"The Rapid urbanisation is taking place around Shamshabad Airport and the Outer Ring Road (ORR). In this context, the government has devised plans to develop a special city named 'Future City' with world-class infrastructure and sustainable growth as its core objective," he said.
"The Future City will span an area of 770 square kilometers, covering 56 revenue villages across seven mandals in the Rangareddy district. To ensure systematic and well-equipped development, a dedicated governing body, the "Future City Development Authority," has been established. The Future City will be developed into a global-standard metropolis, on par with Hyderabad, Secunderabad, and Cyberabad," Sridhar Babu said.
