ECI Releases MLC Election Notification for six Seats, Polling on Feb 27
MLC election schedule announced
Hyderabad: The MLC elections in the Telugu States---Telangana and Andhra Pradesh---are in full swing. The election schedule for six MLC seats in the two States has been released.
The ECI has released the list for the three MLC seats that are going to fall vacant in the Telangana State. Elections to one graduate and two teachers' MLC seats will be held on February 27, the Election Commission said. The results will be announced on March 3. The notification regarding the conduct of the elections will be issued on February 3. Nominations will be accepted from February 3 to 10. The scrutiny will be conducted on February 11. The last date for withdrawal of candidature of the candidates is February 13. The Polling will be held on February 27 and the results will be declared on March 3.
The elections will be held for Karimnagar, Medak, Nizamabad, Adilabad graduates MLC seat and Teachers MLC seat and Warangal, Khammam and Nalgonda Teachers' MLC seat in Telangana. The sitting MLCs T Jeevan Reddy, Kura Raghottam Reddy and Alugubelli Narsireddy are currently representing these three seats.
In the case of Andhra Pradesh, the schedule for two graduate and one Teacher MLC constituencies has been released. The Election Commission has announced that polling for the MLC elections will be held on February 27. A notification to this effect will be issued on February 3. The counting of the votes will take place on March 3. The Election Commission has said the model code of conduct would come into force in the districts where elections will be held.
In Andhra Pradesh, polling will be held for the combined two Godavari, Krishna-Guntur graduates' constituencies and Srikakulam, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam Teachers' MLC seats.
