Devotees Flock Shiva Temples on Sunday
Hyderabad: Devotees flocked to Shiva temples in the Telugu States as it was a weekly holiday on Sunday by keeping in view of the ongoing month of Telugu almanac Karthikam. The women took a holy dip and released the lamps of Kartika masam. As a result, the Shaiva kshetras were filled with the remembrance of Shiva's name.
Devotees from far-flung places as well as from Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, reached the famous Kaleswaram temple in Jayashankar Bhupalapalle district since early morning of Sunday and had holy dips in the Triveni Sanghamam’s Godavari river. They also performed special pujas to Goddess Godavari.
Later, the lamps were thrown in the Godavari by them. They offered maredu flowers to Sri Kaleshwara Mukteeswara Swamy at the Temple. The women performed kumkumachana puja at Sri Shubhananda Devi temple. At the amla tree, one lakh mugas and lamps were lit and performed. The rush of devotees at Vemulawada Rajanna temple has increased on the occasion of the Karthika masam in Rajannasircilla district. It took four hours for the darshan of presiding deity. The devotees lit karthika lamps in front of the temple. The temple authorities have cancelled the arjita services performed by the devotees in the sanctum sanctorum on Sunday and Monday to avoid any trouble for the devotees.
Yadagirigutta Lakshmi Narasimha Kshetra was also packed with devotees on Sunday. As it was a weekend holiday in the month of Kartika masam, a large number of devotees gathered at the temple and had darshan of their favourite deities. A large number of devotees participated in the nijaabhishekam, archana, nitya kalyanam and vrata poojas of Sri Satyanarayana Swamy.
The parking lot was filled with vehicles and vehicles were also stranded on the ring road around the field. On the occasion of Karthika masam, there was a rush of devotees at specially arranged places for deeparadhana and vrat puja of Lord Satyadeva. They also paid obeisance to Lord Ramalingeswara Swamy along with Panchanarasimha in the sanctum sanctorum of the hill along with parvatavardhini in the Shiva temple.
On Sunday, devotees thronged Srisailam temple. The devotees from various States flocked to the temple. Since early morning, the devotees took a holy dip in the Pathalaganga and paid obeisance to the presiding deities of the temple. Deeparavadhanam was performed in the north madaveedhi premises of the temple and at the Gangadhara Mandapam opposite the temple.
