DCMC meeting held at Tourism Plaza
Hyderabad:A meeting of the Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee was held at Begumpet Tourism Plaza (DISHA) here. The meeting, chaired by Union Minister Kishan Reddy in his capacity as the chairman of the Disha Committee, has been held on for a long time. MP Eatala Rajender, Hyderabad Collector Anudeep, officials of various departments and Disha committee members participated in the meeting.
The minister inquired about Swachh Bharat Mission, LMD (Lead Bank District Manager) reviewed Mudra loans and education loans and MSMEs in all banks. He also enquired about the railways, electricity, national highways, construction of bridges and other issues in the city. He questioned the officials of various departments, including the GHMC, about the amount being provided by the Central government for the uplift of the poor and women's groups. On Friday, the Union Minister expressed dissatisfaction over the many details provided by the officials at the meeting.
"What are the difficulties in achieving the target when the Central government is implementing large amounts of funds and schemes? What are the difficulties being faced in self-help groups, subsidised loans. A full project report should be prepared in the next meeting. It has come to our notice that officials and bankers are harassing the beneficiaries," he said.
He said those issues should be brought to his notice directly. He said steps should be taken to ensure that the benefits of the schemes provided by the Central government reach everyone as per the target. “If there is any difficulty in providing loans between the officials and the bankers, they should inform me,” he said.
While some details have been disclosed by the officials of the respective departments, there is a lack of clarity in providing the full details. The minister directed the officials to coordinate with all departments and bankers and submit a detailed project report to him in another meeting. Reddy made it clear that there should be no problem in achieving the target set by the Centre.
Reddy said it had come to his notice that officials and bankers were facing some difficulties in providing loans to have their own houses and certificates. "If one of the group defaults, why is the entire group being put under default,”he asked.
