CV Anand Commissioner of Police again
Hyderabad: Senior IPS officer CV Anand on Monday once again took charge as Hyderabad City Police Commissioner in the city.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, he said, "I am happy to take charge as Hyderabad CP for the second time. I am thanking CM Revanth Reddy for giving me this opportunity. At present, there are Ganesh Chaturthi and Milad-un-nabi festivals. We will ensure that the festivals are held in a peaceful atmosphere," he said. He recalled that last year too, two festivals came at the same time.
“Then we held them in a peaceful manner,” he said. He also said the action plan was now ready in all respects. He revealed that he would hold a review meeting with the officials regarding the festival arrangements.
Stating that friendly policing will continue to be a part of policing, CV Anand said people were misinterpreting it. Criminals will be cracked down across the city, he said, adding that the State government was serious about drugs and would work towards eradicating drugs and ganja. "I will take full details of the phone tapping case," Anand said.
On the occasion of CV Anand taking charge as city CP, many people presented flower bouquets and congratulated him.
CV Anand had earlier served as Hyderabad police commissioner from December 24, 2021 to October 12, 2023, he was the Hyderabad CP. He had earlier served as additional director general of police in the Central services. In 2017, he received the President's Police Medal as well as the Innovative Leadership Award.
