Construction of Sub-registration Offices to be Spruced up at Corporate Level: Ponguleti
Facelift for sub-registrar offices
Hyderabad: Minister for Revenue, Housing, Information and Public Relations Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has announced that in addition to the reorganisation of sub-registrar offices, modern facilities at the corporate level will be built with CSR funds to provide government services to the people in a more efficient and transparent manner.
The Minister held a meeting with the District Collectors and Registrars of Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy at the Secretariat here on Tuesday.
The officials were advised to reorganise the Sub-Registrar offices and construct new buildings with these two aspects in mind, with the aim of serving the people and providing them with better facilities.
"Currently, there are 144 sub-registrar offices in Telangana, of which only 37 are in their own buildings, while the rest are in rented buildings. To change this situation, we will construct all sub-registrar offices with modern facilities at the corporate level in a phased manner," Ponguleti said.
In the first phase, an integrated sub-registrar office is being constructed at Sangareddy and Patancheruvu in Sangareddy district, Medchal, Quthbullapur and Uppal in Medchal- Malkajgiri district, Kandukuru sub-registrar office in Fourth City, Gandipet and Serilingampally in Rangareddy district and three sub-registrar offices at Telangana Academy of Land Information and Management (TALIM) office in Gachibowli. In addition to this, steps are being taken to lay the foundation stone for the proposed offices within the month, he informed.
Stating that the construction of integrated sub-registrar's office will be a role model for the country, Ponguleti said it has been decided to build three sub-registrar's offices in Hyderabad district - Banjara Hills, SR Nagar and Golconda - at one place in the Sheikhpet area.
The officials were advised to design the sub-registrar offices to be built in the first phase to be on at least three acres, with a building area of ten to fifteen thousand square feet, with facilities such as a waiting hall, drinking water facilities, and spacious parking.
"The integrated sub-registrar offices will not only improve performance, but also will also facilitate monitoring and reduce corruption, while ensuring equal workload between offices and speeding up the processing of files," Ponguleti said.
The officials were also instructed to make extensive use of technology to eradicate corruption in the Sub-Registrar's offices, immediately formulating a plan of action in this regard.
Khammam Lok Sabha Member Ramasahayam Raghurama Reddy, Revenue Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal, Stamps and Registration IG Jyoti Buddhaprakash and others participated in the meeting.
