Congress Leaders Continue their Criticism Against Allu Arjun in Stampade Incident
Cong criticism of Allu Arjun continues
Hyderabad: Congress leaders persisted in their criticism of film actor Allu Arjun for a second consecutive day.
They attributed responsibility for the incident at the Sandhya theater to him, intensifying their reproach.
The Minister for Cinematography, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, called for the actor to issue an immediate and unconditional apology to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Speaking to the media, he expressed that it was inappropriate for Allu Arjun to make irresponsible comments about the Chief Minister.
"The Chief Minister did not single out anyone nor did he speak personally about any individual. He provided a comprehensive explanation of the Sandhya Theater incident in the Assembly. It was not appropriate to make derogatory remarks against the Chief Minister," Komatireddy noted.
Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy criticised Allu Arjun, stating that the actor appears to have no affection for the public, only for his film revenues.
The State government has decided to raise ticket prices to ensure that the film, which the actor dedicated three years to creating, does not go unappreciated. Despite the stampede incident occurring outside the theater on that day, the actor has allegedly acted in an irresponsible manner and failed to express any concern or offer condolences to the victims' families, he alleged.
“As a public figure, it is essential to uphold a sense of responsibility that does not negatively impact others. It is ironic that Allu Arjun has criticised the Chief Minister in light of the incident,” remarked the Congress MP.
Congress MLC Balmuri Venkat has urged Allu Arjun to demonstrate empathy during tragic incidents such as the Sandhya theater occurrence, emphasizing that this is not reflective of how individuals from the Telugu community exhibit their strength.
“I initially believed the press conference was held out of a sense of regret; however, it was inappropriate for him to make contrary statements,” the MLC said.
He stated that there are numerous videos documenting the circumstances surrounding Allu Arjun's departure from the theater on that day; however, he misrepresented the facts during the press conference by claiming he was unaware of the woman's death until the following day.
In a press conference, Government Whip Aadi Srinivas remarked that Allu Arjun appeared to show no signs of remorse in his demeanor. Moreover, the Congress MLA noted Allu Arjun's indignation regarding the perceived misinterpretation of Chief Minister Revanth's comments in the Telangana Assembly, emphasising that there was a lack of sympathy for Revathi's family.
