Hyderabad: Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday launched the Family Digital Card Pilot project at Hockey Grounds in Secunderabad.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the State government was launching the pilot project of family digital card in 119 Assembly constituencies across the Telangana State and the family digital cards would help people to avail the benefits of the welfare schemes.

"The Telangana government has already announced plans to go ahead with the 'One state One Card' policy. The objective of the new policy is to extend the welfare schemes benefit to all eligible," Revanth Reddy said.

He further stated that the family digital card will help as a protective shield to every family and all the welfare scheme benefits will be provided through a single card. The family health card is useful to avail the benefits of schemes such as Ration, Arogyasri, Fee Reimbursement etc.

Everyone's health profile will also be included in the family digital card to support the poor. The pilot project has been launched to find out the challenges in the issuance of the family digital cards. It will also find solutions to every problem encountered in the pilot project," Revanth Reddy disclosed.

The Chief Minister further stated that the State government has appointed an RDO level officer as a monitoring officer for each constituency and woman is considered as head of the family in the family digital card.

He alleged that the major fault committed by the previous government was it put heavy debt burden and the State landed in a deep crisis. However, his government is moving forward by rectifying every error committed by the previous government, Revanth Reddy said.

Stating that the main objective of HYDRAA and Musi Riverfront Development project is to protect the city of Hyderabad, the Chief Minister said the State government is ready to invite suggestions for alternatives and questioned why the Opposition has maintained silence during the discussion on HYDRAA in the Assembly.

"Government is providing houses and Rs 25,000 financial assistance to the displaced, who are living in unhygienic conditions along the Musi river, to lead a better life with self respect. But, the opposition leaders are raising the poor issues only to protect their farm houses," he pointed out.

The Chief Minister said he has been in public life for the last 20 years and well aware of the people's plights and questioned how long the opposition would play dirty politics on Musi issue.
