CM Revanth Launches Development projects worth Rs5,827 cr in GHMC

Hyderabad: As part of the "Praja Paalana Vijayotsavam" celebrations, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Tuesday virtually inaugurated various development projects worth Rs5,827 crore under the jurisdiction of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

The various projects including foundation laying for work to the tune of Rs.3,446 crore under the Hyderabad City Infrastructure and Transportation Initiative (HCITI) Phase-1, including beautification of roads and city junctions worth Rs150 crore, launch of stormwater drainage and floodwater management initiatives with an estimated cost of Rs17 crore to prevent water stagnation, inauguration of sewage treatment plants built by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) at a cost of Rs669 crore, Commissioning of 19 reservoirs around the Outer Ring Road with an investment of Rs45 crore to enhance drinking water supply to surrounding areas and announcement of Rs1,500 crore package for road development under the Hyderabad Roads and Development Corporation Limited (HRDCL).

The Chief Minister also laid the foundation for clearing pending roadwork projects and unveiled a new Artificial Intelligence-integrated software for online building and layout approvals. The system is set to go live in February 2025, streamlining the approval process for urban projects.

Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy emphasised that these initiatives aim to address key urban challenges, including infrastructure gaps, floodwater management and efficient urban planning, while bolstering Hyderabad's position as a leading global city.
