BRS to Begin 'Gurukula Baata' from Nov 30 to Dec 7: KTR
Hyderabad: BRS party working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday expressed his displeasure over the plight of gurukul schools in the State. He alleged that the Revanth Reddy government had pushed gurukuls and school education into crisis. He announced that from November 30 to December 7, the BRS party would hold “Gurukula Baata “a program across the State and visit all the gurukuls of the State.
“As part of the 'Gurukula Baata' programme, BRS party MLAs, MPs, MLCs, senior party leaders and women leaders will inspect the gurukuls, KGBVs, model schools, government residential schools and colleges,” he said, adding in the last 11 months, 52 Gurukul students had died and there were 38 incidents of food poisoning.
“The Chief Minister is killing the students due to criminal negligence of the administration,” he alleged while mocking that the State does not have an education minister. The Chief Minister does not have enough time to travel to Delhi. The government, which did not conduct a single review even when the students were dying, in the anti-student government,” he said.
KTR said a study committee was formed on behalf of the BRS party to study the conditions of the gurukuls, KGBV and model schools. “A five-member gurukul study committee has been formed under the chairmanship of R S Praveen Kumar. From November 30 to December 7, Gurukul baata programme will be held across the State. The study committee will submit a report to the BRS party,” he said. He made it clear that the issues of the report would be raised in the Assembly.
