Ambedkar celebrations in city

Hyderabad: The birth anniversary of Dr BR Ambedkar, architect of the Indian Constitution, was celebrated in Chintala Basti of Tarnaka Division in Secunderabad. On the occasion, Union Minister and BJP Telangana State president Kishan Reddy offered floral bouquets and garlanded the statue of BR Ambedkar. Later, he personally participated in the Annadanam program organised and served rice with devotion. A large number of locals, fans and activists attended the program.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the 134th birth anniversary celebrations of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar were being celebrated with great pomp and show across the country. “Despite facing many ups and downs in the last 77 years, the Indian Constitution is moving forward wonderfully and uniquely with the support of the people. The Congress party imposed emergency and held the Indian Constitution hostage by turning the country into a prison. It arrested senior leaders, representatives of public associations, journalists, editors, student and youth leaders and trampled on democracy during the emergency period. However, the people stood firm and walked forward with the spirit of the constitution and restored democracy and the constitution,” he recalled.
Reddy claimed that for the last 75 years, the Indian Constitution had not been implemented in Jammu & Kashmir due to the presence of Article 370 and added that the Central government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi abrogated the Article 370, removed the Jinnah Constitution and implemented the Indian Constitution in the valley completely while claiming that the Centre has completely integrated the Jammu and Kashmir into the country.
Reddy claimed that the Congress party insulted Ambedkar many times, obstructed him at every step and caused him difficulties. He said Ambedkar, regardless of his health, gave the country a constitution by not eating and sleeping for days but the Congress party did not respect him.
“Nehru himself campaigned to defeat Ambedkar, which is a testament to the Congress party's poor mentality. The Narendra Modi government has developed five important places related to Ambedkar's life as Panchatirthas. The Modi government has developed five important places related to Ambedkar's life as 'Panchtirthas'- Janmabhoomi - Mau (Madhya Pradesh), Shiksha Bhoomi - London (place of study), Deeksha Bhoomi - Nagpur (place of adoption of Buddhism), Mahaparinirvana Bhoomi - Delhi (place of last breath), Chaitanya Bhoomi - Mumbai (place of funeral) and have made them sacred monuments,” he said .
He noted that it was because of the Constitution that even the poorest person in the country had got the opportunity to become the President and Prime Minister. He said under the BJP government, Abdul Kalam was made the President, Ram Nath Kovind, a Dalit, was also made the President for the second time, and Draupadi Murmu, a tribal woman, was made as the woman President. “This was possible only because of the Constitution drafted by Babasaheb Ambedkar. Governance with rules and moral values at all levels, from the village panchayat to the Parliament, is possible only through the Constitution. The responsibility to protect the Constitution lies with the future generations. The Narendra Modi government is working towards that with dedication,” he said.
