Bhumata Portal to Replace Dharani Soon; Work in Progress
Bhumata portal to be launched soon in place of Dharani
Hyderabad: The State government is actively working on developing a new land portal named Bhumatha, which will replace the existing Dharani portal.
The government on Tuesday issued orders handing over the management of the Dharani portal to the National Informatics Centre (NIC), a central government agency.
The management of the Dharani portal, which was previously run by a private company, Terrasys, has been transferred to the NIC. With the technical shift now complete, only the portal’s renaming process remains.
Officials say that the government will extend the responsibilities to the NIC for another two years if it performs well.
Revenue officials revealed that the administrative burden of about one crore rupees will also be reduced by handing over the services from Terrasys to NIC.
Revenue Principal Secretary Naveen Mittal also clarified in the order that Terrasys staff will cooperate with NIC by November 30 to fully transfer the technical aspects of the Dharani portal to NIC.
The upcoming Bhumatha portal is expected to streamline land-related processes even further.
