BEFI Telangana holds International Working Women’s Day at RBI
BEFI organises international Working Women's day

Hyderabad: Bank Employees Federation of India (BEFI) Telangana organised International Working Women’s Day – 2025 on Sunday at RBI, Hyderabad premises. Justice Dr Radha Rani, of High Court of Telangana, was chief guest on the occasion. She expressed her happiness for organising such huge gathering of women bank employees on a holiday. She explained that due to reservations in employment, Ladies elevated to come up in the services in different fields including judiciary. She also suggested families to encourage ladies to come up in the career. She opined that the domestic violence is more prevalent along with sexual harassment in work places. She suggested demanding formation of Internal Committees against sexual abuse in work places.
Chethana, High Court Lawyer on the occasion dealt with various aspects of POSH Act. S Venkateswara Reddy, Secretary General, All India Regional Rural Bank Employees Association (AIRRBEA) explained that women workers are more in the banking industry. The genuine demands of the customers are increasing but due to shortage of staff in the industry, the present employees are with stress and strain. He called upon the women employees to organise themselves and participate in more numbers in the trade union activities.
M Padmasri, Secretary, CITU Telangana State Committee explained the origin of International Women’s Day and its evolution. The first women convention of BEFI-Telangana unanimously adopted the declaration to organize themselves systematically with a view to achieve unity and also realize their immediate demands viz., Recruitment of staff and regularization of temporary employees, social security measures, halt sexual harassment at work places, crèche facilities, separate restrooms for lady employees, etc., After deliberations a “Sub-Committee of Women Employees” with R Divya as Convenor and 14 others from various banks.
