Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday asked the bankers to become active partners in the journey of Swarnandhra Vision-2047.
Addressing the bankers at the State Level Bankers Committee (SLBC) meeting held at the State Secretariat here, the Chief Minister said that by implementing the 10 principles the State Government has been constantly striving hard to realise the dream of this vision. Informing the bankers that the State Government has set a target of reaching the 15 per cent growth rate, Naidu sought the active cooperation of the banks to achieve this, particularly for the basic sector.
The Chief Minister said that there is every possibility of achieving a lot of growth in farming and allied sectors and asked the bankers to play a crucial role in this. In fact, the food habits of people both in the State and across the country are changing fast, he said, adding that the cultivation of various food products is also changing accordingly. Horticulture is fast replacing agriculture, he said and keeping this in view he wanted the banks to sanction maximum possible loans to farmers.
Naidu also asked the bankers to extend assistance to farmers who go for cultivation of commercial crops which largely help for economic progress. The Chief Minister felt that the situation should also improve so that the farmers, who meet all the necessary norms, should get loans within 15 minutes of their reaching the banks.
Stating that green energy projects are to be set up in the State on a massive scale, the Chief Minister wanted the banks to take the initiative in sanctioning loans to them.
Ministers K Atchen Naidu, Payyavula Kesav and Kondapalli Srinivas along with the CEO of Union Bank of India A Manimekhalai and others were present.
