Asifabad Medical College will be Named after Konda Laxman Bapuji: CM Revanth

Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has declared that the Asifabad Medical College will be named in honour of Konda Laxman Bapuji. He has instructed Minister for Agriculture Tummala Nageshwar Rao to oversee the official procedures necessary for naming the college.

During his participation in the 'All India Padmashali Mahasabha' at the Exhibition Grounds in Nampally on Sunday, Revanth Reddy remarked that Konda Laxman had forfeited his position for the betterment of Telangana State, even hosting the launch of the second phase of the Telangana movement at his home.

He criticised the previous BRS government for failing to pay their respects to such a significant figure upon his passing, asserting that the community will always remember the disrespect shown to Konda Laxman Bapuji.

In acknowledgment of Konda Laxman Bapuji's contributions, the State government has successfully persuaded the union government to establish the Indian Institute of Handloom Technology, which has been named in honour of the esteemed leader, Revanth Reddy said.

"The Padmashali community embodies dignity and sacrifice. The State government's approach is to ensure fairness for the Padmashali fraternity whenever opportunities arise. I will advocate for the community as if we are family, as you hold me in high regard," Revanth Reddy remarked.

The Chief Minister announced that the State government is prepared to allocate Rs. 1 crore for the construction of a Markandeya Bhavan in Solapur, aimed at promoting the dignity of the Padmashali community. Moreover, the government will offer financial and political support, along with job opportunities for the community, he said.

Revanth Reddy alleged that some forces are obstructing the government's efforts to provide 42 per cent reservation to BCs and called upon the BC community to thwart these conspiracies.
