Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha on Monday responded to Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan's statement that he would have to take over as home minister of the State if she failed to maintain law and order in Andhra Pradesh. She clarified that there was nothing wrong in the comments made by the Deputy Chief Minister.
Anitha held a review meeting with the police officials of Anantapur and Sri Sathya Sai districts. Speaking on the occasion, she said she was aware of the case Pawan Kalyan had spoken about with such anger. “I will talk to him about it soon," she said while noting that they will take Pawan Kalyan's words as a responsibility and work together. She also made it clear that there was no neglect of issues such as atrocities against women and supply and sale of ganja in the State.
"We have discussed with the officials the steps to be taken to prevent crimes in the State," she said and expressed grief over the gang rape that took place in Sri Sathya Sai district. “If action had been taken against such people in the past, such things would not have happened now," she said and added that everyone was concerned about the crimes that are taking place in the State. She said they were working to ensure that law and order was implemented strictly in the State," Anita said.
She said special courts should be set up for the immediate implementation of sentences to the accused of various crimes and added that she would take the issue to the notice of Chief Minister Chandrababu. She said action would be taken against those who post false posts on social media.
